Albert Harvey Thomson — Rochester


ROCHESTER — The funeral for Albert Harvey Thomson will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of St. John the Evangelist in downtown Rochester; Msgr. Gerald A. Mahon and Father John Lasuba will officiate. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery in Bradford, Pa.

Mr. Thomson, 87, of Rochester, died Monday (Feb. 23, 2009) at Charter House.

He was born May 26, 1921, in Bradford, Pa. On July 1, 1944, he married Margaret "Peggy" Holleran in Bradford. He worked there many years as an accountant, then later moved to Evansville, Ind., where he was a plant manager for Bucyrus-Erie Co. He retired in 1982 and moved to Rochester in 2004 to be near family.

Mr. Thomson was active in Rotary Club and the American Red Cross.


He is survived by his wife; three children, Linda Thomson (Ken) Lewis of Indianapolis, John Harvey (Annette) Thomson of Milwaukee and Margaret Thomson (Mike) Kelsey of Rochester; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Catherine English.

Friends may call an hour before the service at the church.

Memorials are preferred to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Macken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
