Alexander ‘Odie’ Johns — Rochester

ROCHESTER — The funeral for Alexander "Odie" Johns will be at noon Saturday at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester, with the Rev. James Kunz officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood East Cemetery.

Mr. Johns, 29, died Sunday (May 25, 2008).

Born Feb. 18, 1979, in Rochester, he graduated from John Marshall High School in 1998. He then attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul. He managed Mr. Raggs, a clothing store in Mankato, Minn., and was also employed at the skate park in Mankato. Most recently, he was employed by the Radisson Hotel in Rochester.

He excelled in BMX Bike Riding and was a member of a Target Market Stunt Team. He enjoyed riding motorcycles with his friends, was very handy and enjoyed fixing anything. He loved animals, especially his Jack Russells, and his faith in Jesus Christ was most important to him.

He is survived by his mother, Peggy Johns of Rochester; his father, David of Mankato; a brother, Benjamin (Samantha Erickson) of Rochester; his maternal grandmother, Gretchen Riley of Mankato; and his paternal grandparents, John and Lorraine Johns of Mankato. Other survivors include many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather.


Visitation will be an hour before the service at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Homes.
