Alvin F. ‘Bude’ Prigge — Lewiston

LEWISTON — The funeral for Alvin F. "Bude" Prigge will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston, with the Revs. David A. Fischer and Michael A. Lindemann co-officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Oakwood Cemetery, Rochester.

Mr. Prigge, 95, of Lewiston, died Saturday (April 11, 2009) at Lewiston Villa Nursing Home.

He was born Jan. 14, 1914, in Lincoln, Ill., to William J. and Emma Lillie (Klein) Prigge. He served in the Army during World War II in Africa and Italy. With his father, he operated Prigge’s Grocery Store in Lewiston for 32 years. Following the closing of Prigge’s Grocery, he worked for Nuszloch’s Grocery until his retirement.

He was a lifelong member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston, and in his earlier years enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, gardening, and following Twins baseball games.

Survivors include two brothers, Arnold "Orn" of Lewiston and Allen of Eugene, Ore.; and a sister, Alice (David) Przestwor of Rochester. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Hoff Funeral Home of Lewiston is assisting with arrangements.
