Anita L. Flak -- Canton

CANTON -- The funeral for Anita L. Flak will be at 11 p.m. Wednesday in Hesper Lutheran Church in Hesper, Iowa, with the Rev. Curtis Fox officiating. Burial will be in the church's cemetery.

Mrs. Flak, 78, of rural Decorah, Iowa, formerly of Canton, died Thursday (Dec. 22, 2005) at her home.

Anita Olson was born May 20, 1927, in Canton. She graduated from Harmony High School in 1945 and then graduated from a medical technology school in Minneapolis. She worked for a short time at the Fergus Falls Hospital and at a clinic in Austin. On April 10, 1949, she married Curtis R. Flak at Hesper Lutheran Church in Hesper, Iowa. She was a member of Hesper Lutheran Church and the WELCA. She enjoyed flowers, cooking and baking.

She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Cynthia (Jay) McLaren of Rochester and Maribeth (Bob) Orth of Sleepy Eye, Minn.; and two sons, Duane (Lorna) and Dale (Cathy), both of rural Decorah. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Mengis Funeral Home in Mabel and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
