AUSTIN -- The funeral for Anna Griese will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Robert Stohlmann officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin.
Mrs. Griese, 93, of Austin, a former nursing assistant, died Sunday (April 21, 2002) at St. Mark's Lutheran Home in Austin.
Anna Cramer was born March 22, 1909, in Dows, Iowa, and graduated from Belmond, Iowa, High School. She worked as a housekeeper, was a cook at area drive-ins, and for 23 years was a nursing assistant at Raymonds/Burr Oak Manor Nursing Home in Austin. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and enjoyed traveling and puzzles.
Survivors include four daughters, Laurabel (William) Tasler of Stewartville, Judith (Franklin) Goertz of Rochester, Janice (Roger) Jorgenson of Austin and Patricia (James) Crofoot of Oronoco; two sons, Robert Jr. of Milwaukee and Harlan (Mary Jo) of Austin; 25 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Wallace Cramer of Belmond; and a sister, Lucille Cramer of Belmond. She was preceded in death by two sons, three great-grandsons and four sisters.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
