On Tuesday, Mayo High School and the Olmsted Public Health Department is hosting a presentation on adolescent anxiety disorder — what families need to know.
The presentation will start at 7 p.m. in the Mayo High School Auditorium. Sponsored by Mayo High School PTSA, it will focus on activities for teens to relieve stress and anxiety, and how to tell when professional help is needed.

Sue Jenkins, M.D., a local pediatric psychiatrist, will include students in role-playing some of the most common symptoms of stress and anxiety. Jenkins will also offer suggestions for parents and information on the types of support that is available in the community.
This event is free and open to the public.
This topic was selected by a team of school counselors, psychologists, parents and health care professionals. Together, the team feels anxiety is one of the most common mental health issues facing students today, yet it’s not often recognized.
