April J. Sorensen — Rochester

ROCHESTER — The funeral for April J. Sorensen will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at East Freeborn Lutheran Church in Albert Lea, with the Revs. David Hernes and Wendy Anderson officiating. Interment will be in East Freeborn Cemetery.

Mrs. Sorensen, 27, of Rochester, died Tuesday (April 17, 2007) at her home.

April Jean Larson was born March 26, 1980, in Albert Lea and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1998. While in school, she was active in basketball and volleyball, and enjoyed all sports. After graduation, she attended the Mankato (Minn.) School of Cosmetology and was employed at the JC Penney Salon in Mankato for three years. On Aug. 24, 2003, she married Joshua Sorensen. They moved to Rochester, where she was employed at the JC Penney Salon for two years. This past year, she worked for UPS and attended Rochester Community and Technical College. She enjoyed running, scrapbooking, spending time with her family, snowmobiling and being outdoors, and she was a lifelong member of East Freeborn Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband; her parents, Jon and Sandy (Stadheim) Larson of Hayward, Minn.; a sister, Holly Larson; a brother, Randy Larson; and grandparents Stanley and Babe Stadheim, and Lucille Larson. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home in Albert Lea, and an hour before the service Sunday at the church.
