ROCHESTER -- A memorial service for Ardale "Dell" Bell was Sept. 25 at Camino del Sol Funeral Chapel in Sun City West, Ariz.
Mrs. Bell, 83, of Sun City West, formerly of Rochester, died Sept. 20, 2004, in Sun City West
She was born in Waupaca, Wis., and, at a young age moved with her parents to Albert Lea. She worked in administration in public school systems for several years and served on the state board of the Minnesota Association of Education Secretaries for several years. Later, she worked in administration in the personnel and education departments at IBM in Rochester. In 1985, she and her husband, Kenneth Bell, retired from IBM and moved to Sun City West. She was a member of American Lutheran Church in Sun City, Sons of Norway, National American Legion Auxiliary, and Stardust Ladies Golf League-Sun City West, and she served 10 years on the league's executive board.
Survivors include a son, Ralph L. Halvorson of Minnesota; a daughter, RuthAnn Weiss of Minnesota; three stepchildren, Richard Bell of New York, and Ronald Bell and Barbara Ahders, both of Florida; two grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester J. Halvorson.
