AUSTIN -- At his request, there were no services for Ardell Marlin Broten. The body was cremated.
Mr. Broten, 79, of Santa Maria, Calif., formerly of Austin, died Aug. 17, 2004, at a Santa Maria Hospital.
He was born Jan. 26, 1925, in Austin. On Aug. 31, 1951, he married Grace Kohlow. Mr. Broten retired to Santa Maria after 22 years in the Air Force.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Martin T. of Santa Maria; three daughters, Lona Boyenga of Austin, Sharon Williamson of Widefield, Colo., and Lynda (Joe) Mejia of Nipomo, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Orla Broten of Austin.
Dudley-Hoffnman Mortuary in Santa Maria was in charge of arrangements.
