Ardella Haldorson — Austin

AUSTIN — The funeral for Ardella Haldorson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin, with the Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Woodbury Cemetery, near Lyle.

Mrs. Haldorson, 93, of Austin, died Tuesday (April 24, 2007) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.

Ardella Kilgore was born April 23, 1914, in Bellingham, Wash.

She moved to the Austin area as a child and graduated from Austin High School. She worked at the Geo. A. Hormel Co., and married Clarence Haldorson on Nov. 17, 1940, at the parsonage in Hayward, Minn. She also worked at the T & L Market and the Kenwood Park Grocery stores in southwest Austin. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church, where she was active in WELCA and church circle.

Survivors include two daughters, Karen (Donald) Dimmel of Prescott, Ariz., and Connie (Larry) Edlund of Kalamazoo, Mich.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1990, and two brothers.


Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary in Austin, and an hour before the service Saturday at the church.

The family prefers memorials.
