Ardelle Elaine Erickson -- Austin

AUSTIN -- The funeral for Ardelle Elaine Erickson will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin, with the Rev. Joe Fogal officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Austin.

Mrs. Erickson, 77, of Austin, died Monday (Sept. 25, 2006) at her home.

Ardelle Elaine Thorn was born Feb. 18, 1929, in Staples, Minn. She was a cheerleader throughout high school and graduated from Staples High in 1946. She then attended beauty school in Minneapolis, after which she moved to Austin. She began employment with Hormel Foods Corp., in 1948. She married Vince Clifford, and they later divorced. On Nov. 21, 1964, she married Nobby Erickson. After 33 years of employment at Hormel, she retired. She enjoyed golf, bowling, playing cards and spending time with her family.

Survivors include six children, Terri (Dean) Peterson and Tony (Suzy Stone) Erickson, both of Austin, Cindy (Jim) Blagsvedt of Spring Grove, Tommy (Celia) Clifford of Tomahawk, Wis., Rick Erickson of Rochester and Rory Erickson of Tiburon, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gene Thorn of Seward, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her husband on Nov. 26, 1990, and a grandson.

There will be a 6:30 p.m. Eagles Ritual and a 7 p.m. wake service Thursday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, where friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friends may also call from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
