ROCHESTER -- The funeral for Ardis G. Kreter will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Ranfranz &; Vine Funeral Homes, Rochester. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Kreter, 81, died Wednesday (Dec. 24, 2003) at Samaritan Bethany Heights in Rochester, where she had lived since March.
Ardis G. Kimmel was born Jan. 20, 1922, in Saginaw, Mich. She married Garfield E. Kreter on Aug. 25, 1945, in Tawas, Mich. The couple moved to Rochester. He died in 1986. She entered Samaritan Bethany Heights in March. During World War II, she worked on an assembly line in Michigan building bombers. She also was a beautician in Michigan and Rochester. She worked at Rochester Nursing Home and Madonna Towers as a nursing assistant, retiring after 14 years at Madonna Towers. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include three sons, Dennis G. (Rita) of Richmond, Va., Gary L. (Linda) of Kasson and Mark L. of Elba; four grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Kimmel of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and a sister, Arlene Spears of Saginaw. She was also preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday and one hour before the service Monday at Ranfranz &; Vine Funeral Homes.
