Arleen L. Peterson — Austin


AUSTIN — The funeral for Arleen L. Peterson will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Worlein Funeral Home in Austin, with the Rev. Ron Barnett officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin.

Mrs. Peterson, 84, of Belgrade, Mont., formerly of Austin, died June 17, 2008, at Bozeman-Deaconess Hospital in Bozeman, Mont.

Arleen Lucille Hagen was born May 31, 1924, in Dexter Township, Mower County. She attended schools in the Dexter/Elkton area. She married Donald Peterson in Austin in 1952. The couple made their home in Austin and had a son; they were later divorced.

Mrs. Peterson was an employee of Hormel Foods Corp. for more than 40 years. She was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin and liked gardening and spending time with her grandsons. In 2003 she moved to Montana to be near her son.


Survivors include a son, Michael (Kathy) of Belgrade, Mont.; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Donna Snyder of Austin. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Hagen.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Worlein Funeral Home.

Memorials are preferred.
