HARMONY -- The funeral for Arlene Christensen will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Lutheran Church in New Brighton, Minn., with the Rev. John Stiles officiating. Burial will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
Mrs. Christensen, 80, of Harmony, formerly of New Brighton, died Monday (May 2, 2005) at Heritage Grove in Harmony.
Arlene Blesener was born Dec. 15, 1924, in St. Paul, and was a 1943 graduate of Mechanic Arts High School in St. Paul. She married James Christensen on June 12, 1948, in St. Paul, and they made their home in New Brighton, where she was a homemaker and part-time secretary. Mr. Christensen died on April 25, 1988. She moved to Chandler Place in St. Anthony Village in 1999, and then to Heritage Grove in November 2004. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church and enjoyed traveling, golf and cards.
Survivors include one son, Steav of St. Paul; one daughter, Nancy (Tom) Byrne of Preston; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Roseville Memorial Chapel in Roseville, Minn., and for an hour before the service Friday at the church.
