AUSTIN -- The funeral for Arlene F. Hopfe will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Austin, with the Rev. Patricia M. Toschak officiating. The body was donated to medical research.
Mrs. Hopfe, 86, of Austin, a former Hormel employee, died Friday (June 14, 2002) at Sacred Heart Care Center in Austin.
She was born July 6, 1915, in Buckeye, Iowa, and graduated from Austin High School in 1933. She married Orval V. Hopfe on June 2, 1934, in Minneapolis. She also was employed at Elam's Jewelry Store, Carriage House, and managed the Goggins Candy Store. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Guinta of Chicago; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister and a brother.
Friends may call an hour before the funeral service Monday.
