Rochester John Marshall picked up a 14-6 Big Nine victory at Mankato East on Tuesday afternoon. David Arnett was the winning pitcher; he threw six strong innings and struck out seven. Greg Polt came on in relief and struck out the side in the seventh.
At the plate Matt Hawkinson was 3-for-3, Ben Schafer 2-for-3, Tom Corcoran 2-for-4, and Mike White 2-for-4 including a two-run homer in the fourth inning. The Rockets scored five in the top of the seventh to help secure the win after taking a 9-6 lead into the inning.
JM, now 5-7 overall and in the Big Nine, plays at Owatonna on Thursday.
