KELLOGG — The funeral for Arthur J. Petroff will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Winona, with the Rev. James Hennessey officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Winona. Military burial rites will be provided by the American Legion Leon J. Wetzel Post #9 of Winona.
Mr. Petroff, 53, of Kellogg and formerly of Winona, died at his home Friday (May 23, 2008).
Arthur James Petroff was born Oct. 26, 1954, in Wabasha. He graduated from Winona Senior High School and obtained a law enforcement degree from Rochester Community and Technical College. He served in the Minnesota National Guard and was formerly employed with the Wabasha County Sheriff’s Department. He served for 23 years on the Winona Police Department.
He married Dawn Tesmer in Minnesota City on Aug. 27, 1977. They later divorced.
He was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for hunting and fishing.

Surviving are two daughters, Dara (A. J. Santiago) Petroff of Woodbury and Dori (Jamie Johnson) Petroff of Fairmont; two sisters, Patricia (Ben) Frickson of Polson, Mt., and Shirley (Richard) VanErt of Eau Claire; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home in Winona and an hour before the service Wednesday. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
