Somerby to Augusta
Leading up to the 2006 Scholarship America Showdown at Somerby Golf Club, some of us here at the Post-Bulletin attempted to explain that the next big PGA Tour star would be playing in Byron.
If we didn’t make that point clear, hopefully Brandt Snedeker did over the weekend.
Snedeker was the champion that first year in Byron. And yesterday he finished third at the Masters.
Not bad for a kid who just two summers ago was in Byron, sitting in a media trailer explaining his Somerby victory with that same infectious smile.
