At the buzzer — Wild give fans reason to cheer

A month ago the Minnesota Wild stood a legitimate chance of missing the playoffs.

But with a win tonight the Wild will wrap up their first Northwest Division championship.

That’s something some of us thought wouldn’t or couldn’t happen this season, after the team did little upgrading in the offseason, then did more harm than good to its reputation by adding only Chris Simon at the trade deadline.

The Wild have a legitimate shot to earn a spot in the Stanley Cup Finals.

They’ve developed a toughness they lacked last year and have given Minnesota sports fans a pro team to be proud of.
