The offense for the visitors scored early and often en route to a 15-0 win in five innings. This was the second straight loss via the 10-run rule for the Lyle/Pacelli Athletics.
Dani Felten was the pitche r for the Athletics and took the loss in her team’s home opener. She was also hampered by six errors on her defense in the Southeast Conference setback.
"We didn’t play aggressive and didn’t back up our pitcher," L/P coach Denny Bray said. "All six errors came in the infield.
"We have all new players at those positions and our inexperience in the infield really showed. We just have to keep working hard and play better in the next game."
Lyle/Pacelli (0-2, 0-2 SEC) plays a non-conference game at Medford on Thursday afternoon.
