Mrs. Rosenthal died Monday (May 16, 2005) in Austin Medical Center.
Atola O. Milks was born Dec. 3, 1914, on a farm near Scranton, N.D. She moved to Austin in 1936, and was employed by the George A. Hormel Co. She married Dudley Rosenthal. In later years, she worked in housekeeping for Austin Medical Center, retiring in 1980. She most recently resided in Sacred Heart Care Center. She enjoyed cooking, baking and needlework.
Survivors include a son, Darrell (Lorraine) of Austin; two daughters, Bonnie (Frank) Karnes and Marlene (Gene) Seavey, both of Austin; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gladys (Ray) Besco of Austin and Mildred Krandell of Portland, Ore.; and two brothers, James Milks and Duane (Esther) Milks both of Portland, Ore. She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, four great-grandsons, four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin, where there will be a 4 p.m. CCW rosary. Visitation will also be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
