Someone stole a six-wheel, all-terrain vehicle last weekend from a rural Sargeant home, and then crashed it in a field.

A 38-year-old man called authorities around 11 a.m. Saturday after realizing the ATV had been stolen and then finding it in a field near the intersection of 620th Avenue and 330th Street, said Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi.

About $5,000 in damage was done to the ATV, which was left laying on its hood. It was taken during the night from a farm field at the owner’s residence.
