Austin area games postponed

Rain once again washed away scheduled baseball and softball games in Austin on Thursday.

The Austin Packers softball team was supposed to play Mankato East at Todd Park, but the game was postponed with no make-up date yet set. The Austin girls are scheduled to play a make-up game today at Owatonna.

Home fields were switched from the original schedule for the Mankato East versus Austin baseball game on Thursday, but the game still didn’t get played. This was supposed to be a home game for the Packers at Seltz Field, but no make-up date has since been announced.

Lyle/Austin Pacelli was also set to host home doubleheaders in baseball and softball on Thursday, but the weather didn’t cooperate. These Southeast Conference doubleheaders with Glenville-Emmons were already rescheduled to include previous postponed games, but now they’ll have to be moved again on the calendar.

The Lyle/Pacelli softball team is scheduled to play a make-up doubleheader today against Grand Meadow/LeRoy-Ostrander/Kingsland at Spring Valley.

The Austin High boys tennis team was also rained out of a Big Nine Conference dual meet on Thursday. This conference contest against Rochester Century at the Paulson Courts has been postponed with no make-up date at this time.

Riverland baseball inserted an extra doubleheader against Mankato Bethany into its schedule, but that was called off on Thursday. The regular season ends next week for the Blue Devils, so no word yet on whether that non-conference date will be rescheduled.
