FARIBAULT -- The Austin boys track and field team captured the top spot at Tuesday's five-team Faribault Invitational.
Bryan Larson led the way for the Packers with three first-place finishes on the day. Larson was first in the 200 and 400 sprints. He was also part of the winning 4 x 200 relay team for the Packers.
"Bryan (Larson) ran a 52.08 in the 400 into a strong head wind, which is an outstanding time for this part of the season," Austin coach Tony Einertson said. "He also placed second in the high jump, so it was a big day for him."
There were many other top performances for the Austin boys. Todd Krupicka won the discus with a personal best throw of 10-feet over his previous longest toss. Carl Bauer won the 1,600 and Marc Forman was first in the 800 meters. Evan Sorenson had three second-place finishes for the Packers.
