AUSTIN EDITION - Austin man charged with pointing pellet gun at teenagers

Police are holding a 21-year-old Austin man on a felony assault charge after he allegedly pointed a pellet gun at three teenagers Saturday night.

According to the police report, the man was driving on Fourth Street Northwest when he exchanged words with the three teens. Shortly after that, the man stopped his vehicle next to the three and got out, struck one of them and pointed a pistol at another.

When one of the teenagers flagged down a passing car, the man put the weapon in his pocket and walked away. When police caught up to him, they found a pellet gun in his right, front pocket.
