AUSTIN EDITION -- Baby-sitting class

The American Red Cross has scheduled a baby-sitting class for young adults from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the chapter office.

Designed for children ages 11 to 15, this is a hands-on class. Students will learn how to keep children safe and entertained.

Each student will receive a baby-sitting handbook. Cost is $20 or $30 for the training plus a baby-sitter's bag. Students should register at the chapter office, 305 4th Ave. N.W., Austin.

Disaster response training

The American Red Cross will offer free disaster response training Thursday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Dexter.


The training is for anyone interested in becoming a disaster volunteer in Mower County.
