AUSTIN EDITION -- Bus driver proves meritable

From staff reports

One of the state's finest bus drivers works for Mower County Transit.

Ed Klimek placed fourth during the Minnesota Statewide Bus Roadeo last Saturday at the University of Minnesota's St. Paul campus. More than 30 drivers from throughout the state competed against each other by maneuvering around obstacles and stopping as close to a post as possible without hitting it, all the while remembering to use mirrors and signals correctly.

Klimek said he was surprised he placed as high as fourth. It was his first competition. He said he made some obvious mistakes with signals and that it didn't help that he was one of the first drivers to compete.

"It was a nice course and a fun day, competing against drivers from all over the state," Klimek said.
