AUSTIN EDITION COL Y Halloween is more than trick or treat

Cowgirls and cowboys, astronauts, Spiderman, Sponge Bob Square Pants and other characters are all welcome at Halloween at the YMCA of Austin on Oct. 24.

There will be games, door prizes, a haunted maze, Halloween games, crafts, pumpkin painting, pictures to remember the day, a goody bag and treats.

The party, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., is fun and safe as well as an opportunity to get to know the Y, coordinator Cindy Bowe said.

Open to all families, the cost is $8 per family or free for YMCA member families.

Activity days scheduled

Oct. 21 and Oct. 22 are No School Activity Days for grades one through six.

Participating kids will swim, play games and more. The day runs from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cost is $18 a day and $13 a day for a second child.

New fall classes set

Fall II session begins Oct. 25. Programs include the After School program, busing to the YMCA, tennis lessons, racquetball lessons, adult NIA classes, Kids' Fitness classes, preschool fitness class, cheer team, gymnastics and swimming lessons.
