Just one pin prevented Beth Duenow from cracking the Top Five list for high game in the women's leagues.
Duenow rolled a 258 game in the Wednesday Matinee League. Tammy Smith currently holds down the fifth spot on the elite list with a 259 game.
Although Duenow didn't make the list for high game, she does have the second highest score for a series this season. Duenow fired a 649 series, but that was some 12 pins shy of the fifth best tally on the season.
Gene Waterbury had the high game for the men with a 278 in the Hiway 218 League on Thursdays. David Schaefer rolled the high series with a 699 in the 19th Hole League. Neither of these scores came close to the top five lists of which some high standards have already been set so far this season.
The Mower County Humane Society will be holding fund raiser dart tournament on Saturday at Echo Lanes. The dart tournament will take place in the Twister Lounge and it starts at 1 p.m.

This is a doubles dart tournament and will be played in doctor style, which is based on wins and losses. All players will participate in a qualifying round which will determine the bracket you are placed in.
Proceeds will benefit the Mower County Humane Society. The Twister Lounge will donate five-dollars per team into a prize fund. The games will consist of 501 and 301.
The cost is $12 per person with $2 of each fee going to the Humane Society. Registration will be held from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. No pre-registration is required. For further information call Dave Bottin at 433-8043.
