AUSTIN EDITION Fair seeks performers for talent contest

Mower County is looking for local talent to be part of this year's Fair Amateur Talent Contest.

The contest has three divisions: pre-teen -- ages 12 and younger; teens -- 13 through 19 years; and open, for any age.

The event is scheduled for 1 p.m. Aug. 13 on Godfather's Fair Square Stage, across from the grandstand.

Professional judges will award three places in each division. Winners in each division will move on to perform at the Minnesota State Fair, which starts the last week in August. First-, second- and third-place winners will receive $40, $30 and $20, respectively, at the county level. The cost to enter is $10.

Entry forms may be found in the fair book, online at www.mowercountyfair.com or by e-mailing mowfair@smig.net.
