August brings tour buses to the Hormel Historic Home from all over.
Buses are rolling in carrying people from Cresco Iowa, the Global Volunteers, Ukranian media, Marionette, Wis., Minneapolis Park &; Recreation Department, and Wabasha's Red Hatters group.
Tours slow down starting in September and throughout the winter months.
I have to admit, I will be ready by the end of the season to put away my granny smock and hat, and can live without another cinnamon roll, for a while.
The home's events will pick up after the tourist season, so call soon if you would like to plan a family gathering or your holiday party here.

We are closed next week during the Mower County Fair; the office open again Aug. 15.
If you would like to bring a group to the home during this time, call 433-4243 before Aug. 5, and we should be able to accommodate you with some advance notice.
Our board of directors will meet as scheduled at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 15 in the Carriage House. The Board of Trustees will meet at 4 p.m. Aug. 16.
