AUSTIN EDITION HORMEL HOME COL Homeopath to lead Jan. social program

Put Jan. 17 on your calendar if you would like to attend our next Social Concerns program.

These monthly classes include a speaker (on multiple topics) and a light lunch. The programs are open to the public and free of charge thanks to the sponsorship of the United Way of Mower County.

Mary Lu Nelson, a practicing homeopath, will introduce us to this classic form of medicine and share some information on healing and maintaining one's health naturally. Seating is limited, so sign up early.

If you're looking for a tax deduction this year, keep the Hormel Historic Home in mind.

Primarily a self sustaining, nonprofit entity, the home appreciates all donations.

As the home ages (unfortunately not like fine wine) the expenses increase. We hope to keep this home operating and in good repair for many generations. For more information on membership, donations or long-term planning, call us at 433-4243.

With the season upon us, "May your Yuletide glow brightly with that good old-fashioned Christmas cheer that makes every heart lighter, every friendship warmer, every hour richer in happiness and contentment." -- A Christmas greeting from a 1964 Hormel News Magazine.

Travel notes with Evie Mohrfeld

"'Tis the day of Christmas, we all did await. The birth of our Savior we now celebrate. Friends are all gathering, family too, to share with each other, food plenty too. Our travelers are talking of trips in the past. With visions of new ones, just hoping they'll last. We pray for good health and new destinations too. Here's hoping you join us, so we meet you, too."

Merry Christmas and happy New Year.
