AUSTIN EDITION -- HORMEL HOME Home restoration continues

As we continue to restore the Hormel Home, we are currently working on one of the upstairs bedrooms and its bathroom.

We anticipate showing these rooms to visitors this summer.

We are looking for the following items to be loaned or donated to us to enhance tours: A dress form, an old hand mirror, a floor lamp, a tea cart, antique ceiling light fixture, old beaded purses, doilies of many kinds.

This week's events



Floral Club will meet at 1 p.m. Program will be presented by Welcome Center director Liliana Silvestry.


Zonta Club will meet at noon.


500 card play at 12:30 p.m.


Bridge play at 12:30 p.m.

Y's Women 6:30 p.m. The program on cake decorating will be presented by Elaine Williamson. A White Elephant Exchange is also scheduled.

A trip is scheduled to watch the musical Cotton Patch Gospel at the Old Log Theater.

April 26

A trip is scheduled to watch the music show "Sisters in Swing" at the Great American History Theater.

May 22
