AUSTIN EDITION Kids invited to 'Cat in the Hat' party

The Austin Public Library is inviting all children in the community to attend the "Kid in the Hat and Cat in the Hat party."

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., from 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Thursday.

Several community members will read to the children. The Cat in the Hat also will attend. Treats and handouts will be available.

The event is part of Dr. Seuss' birthday and to promote interest in reading. The event is geared for preschool and school-age children.
