AUSTIN EDITION Kluczny leads Austin at Raiders Inv.

NORTHFIELD -- Austin boys golf placed seventh on Thursday in the eight-team Raider Invitational at the Northfield Golf Club.

Rosemount placed first with a team score of 316. The meet medalist was Meet Nick Marko from Burnsville with a round of 75.

Tom Kluczny had the low round for the Austin Packers with an 82, which tied for eighth-place. Kluczny would have been higher in the final standings, but he shot double-bogeys on the final two holes.

Ben Meyer was also in the 80s for the Packers. Austin had three other players shoot a round of 90 on a windy day.

"The wind was up a little bit and the scores were a little higher than I expected," Austin coach Will Pazurek said. "Tom had a good round going, but ran into trouble on his last two holes. It's not an easy course, with narrow fairways and greens that are real quick. Our guys will get to see this course again in a couple of weeks when we play Northfield in a dual meet."

Austin boys will be on the golf course Monday at Eden Prairie for another tournament.

At Northfield Golf Course (par 72)

Austin (346): Tom Kluczny 82, Ben Meyer 84, Drew Osier 90, Donald Brown 90, Fred Husemoller 90, James Thorson 99.
