Southern Minnesota Regional Legal Service, a non-profit law firm for low income families and senior citizens, will host a workshop, "Grandparents Rights: Custody and Visitation," to familiarize people with county programs.
An attorney will discuss options for obtaining custody or visitation rights. A representative of the Department of Human Services will discuss public assistance programs available through the county. A victims' advocate will discuss help available for grandparents seeking custody. Also speaking will be a parent who lost custody of her children to her parents.
The workshop is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 11 at the Mower County Senior Center, 400 Third Ave. N.E.
