Lovejoy's Home Furnishings has closed its downtown Austin store.
Katie Lovejoy, wife of owner Jason Lovejoy, confirmed Thursday the closing of the store at 417 Main St. The store, which opened at that location in fall 2003, filled space left vacant by Leuthold's clothing store, which closed in spring 2003.
The main Lovejoy's store is in Stewartville.

The Austin store had 3,800 square feet of space on the main floor and 1,500 square feet on the second.
Downtown Austin has been hit with several store closings in the past year, including PST Your Computer Connection, El Baul gift shop, Gretchen's clothing store, The Bootery shoe store, Black Barts &; Nemitz, Ye Olde Country Shoppe, and the Windfall.
Austin city officials and urban development consultants will meet at the end of the month to continue planning for the revitalization of downtown.
In the past few months, organizers have met with several target groups to collect ideas. All information gathered from sessions with senior citizens, high school and community college students, and Hispanic residents will be reviewed during the workshop, which is scheduled for Jan. 27.
