AUSTIN EDITION - Lyle/Pacelli has best outing of season

BLOOMING PRAIRIE -- The Lyle/Austin Pacelli boys and girls competed in the Blooming Prairie Invitational for cross-country on Friday.

In the boys event, Kasson-Mantorville/Triton won with a score of 43 on the day. Blooming Prairie was second at 54, Hayfield next at 56, and Lyle/Pacelli placed fourth with 61 team points.

Matt Hanson of K-M/T won the boys race with a time of 17 minutes, 37 seconds on the day.

Josh Gunderson, who finished in fourth-place, was the top L/P runner with a time of 18:36. T.J. Parlin placed sixth with a time of 19:11, Dan Rysavy was 12th at 19:40, Shawn Pfeil was 23rd at 22:25, and Jimmy McDermott placed 25th with a time of 23:30 for L/P.

Hayfield won the girls competition with a score of 22. Blooming Prairie was second and L/P posted an incomplete team score. Kate Boisjolie of L/P placed third with time of 16:50.

"I was pleased with our efforts at this meet," L/P coach Jim Parlin said. "All of our runners had faster times than last year at this meet and most of them improved on their previous times this year.

"Kate has continued to make a good showing and is way ahead of last year at this point. T.J. ran his best race of the season and I feel that our younger kids our going to be able to step up to help us as the season progresses."

L/P cross-country is scheduled to travel to Bloomington on Saturday for the Holy Angels Invitational.
