Mower County authorities found a rural Brownsdale woman allegedly in possession of stolen property and what appeared to be methamphetamine Monday.
Deputies executed a search warrant of the 32-year-old woman's rental home on the suspicion that she had stolen property from her previous rental home, Sheriff Terese Amazi said. Officers got a second warrant once they saw what likely was meth in the home, she said.
The woman is in custody and her 1-year-old daughter was placed in foster care, Amazi said. There was no food or milk in the home for the child, she said.
Police initially used a warrant to look for stolen property, including an entertainment center, wireless doorbell, dehumidifier, picnic table, microwave cart and large rugs, Amazi said.

The woman allegedly stole the property after moving out of a rental home in late July, Amazi said. Security cameras had been set up to catch the alleged thefts, she said.
Police found some of the missing items at the woman's current residence, Amazi said.
