AUSTIN EDITION Senior center gets four new computers

Mower County seniors have one more option for checking their e-mails or learning about computers.

The Senior Citizen Center recently added four new computers. The center purchased the computers with a $4,000 grant from the Austin Hormel Foundation.

Staff at the center offer basic computer classes, ranging from how to use the mouse to how to check e-mails.

Sarah Schaffer, director at the center, said the center not only offers seniors the service but it's able to help seniors who might be thinking about buying computers.

The center also offers individual classes for people who prefer them.

Schaffer said many of the seniors use the computers on daily basis to check their e-mails or stocks.

The computer lab is available each day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. For individual classes call the center at 433-2370.
