AUSTIN EDITION SENIOR COL Volunteer drivers keep seniors mobile

With the price of gas on the rise, it is nice to know that you have a loyal senior who is still willing to give his or her all.

We have a volunteer driver program. These volunteers take seniors to medical appointments and to do errands.

The only reimbursement that the volunteer drivers receive is for mileage, which covers only a portion of their costs. If it applies, the senior center will bill your medical insurance for you.

We want to thank the 16 drivers for their loyalty and dedication to this program.

To try the program, or to thank our drivers, call Tessa at 434-2188.
