ADAMS -- Adam Nagele hit his first home run of the season on Tuesday afternoon to lead the Southland baseball team in a wild 22-12 win over Medford.
This was a sloppy non-conference contest with 14 errors between the two teams in just five innings of play. The Rebels scored multiple runs in every inning.
"There were a lot of walks and a lot of errors, so both teams scored a lot of runs," Southland coach Larry Luke summed up the high-scoring affair.
Adam Landherr started on the hill for Rebels and was eventually credited with allowing nine runs. Landherr was relieved in the fourth by Greg Retterath, who allowed three runs, including a two-run homer to Brent Reinhard to cap off the seven-run Tigers fourth.
Nagele hit his home run as part of a six-run uprising by the Rebels in the bottom of the third. Jared Gilles had an RBI double in the game and Chad Wilson drove in two runs with a double for the victorious Rebels.
