From staff reports
A 52-year-old Austin woman reported more than $6,000 worth of items stolen from her home.
The woman told police Thursday she was missing 15 gold rings worth $5,000, a $900 sewing machine, a $300 Coach purse and $500 Remington double barrel shotgun from her northwest home.
She said she takes care of her father. On Aug. 10, she hired a woman to take care of her him because she would be staying overnight at a friend's house.
The woman said some time later, she noticed an expensive perfume missing, so she decided to see if anything else was gone. She reported the incident to police when the items could not be found.
