Led by strong pitching from Kody Retterath, the Austin Jaycee All Stars won the Albert Lea Union and Trades tourney over the weekend, beating Lake Park 12-2 for the title.
The Jaycees had won their way into the title game with a 11-10 win over Mason City, Iowa. Trailing by nine runs at one point, the Jaycee Stars pushed four runs across the plate in the bottom of the sixth inning against Mason City to earn a title berth.
Kyle Swatfager and Nate Justice picked up the other mound wins.
Brad Tucker, Derek Emanuel, Danny Hays, Sam Stier and Swatfager led the team in hitting.
This weekend the Jaycees will host their 24th annual Youth International Tournament at Todd Park North Complex. Teams from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Canada will be participating.

Opening ceremonies will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with KAUS sports director Aaron Worm as master of ceremonies. Actual play starts at 11:30 a.m. Friday and runs all day Friday and Saturday with the title game set for 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
