Calling all rabbit lovers!

On Feb. 24, Austin’s Oak Park Mall will host a rabbit show where six judges will hand out trophies for the top winners in several categories.

Rabbits will be judged on head, eyes, ears and body type.

Doors will open at 7 a.m. All entries are to be submitted by 8 a.m. Judging will begin at 8:30 a.m. The show will last several hours, and the community is invited to watch.


An entry fee of $2.50 will be charged per rabbit. All rabbits must be purebred and meet the weight requirements and standards for their breed.

Blooming Prairie

Tired of feeling cooped up in your house this winter?

Break out your dancing shoes and head to the annual"Cabin Fever Reliever" dance sponsored by the Blooming Prairie Chamber of Commerce. The party starts at 8 p.m. on Feb. 24 with music by Big Bang Entertainment. It will also include a "Dancing with the Stars" contest for those with the most talent. Dancers will also receive two tickets for a chance to win an overnight package that includes a Fireside Suite at the AmericInn Motel in Owatonna and dinner for two at Torey’s Resturant. All proceeds will benefit the community.
