A 11⁄2-year-old; boy was found dead in a Mazeppa home on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wabasha County Sheriff's Office is investigating the baby's death, which may have been caused when the baby became lodged in the rails of his crib.
Attempts to revive Koal William Berentsen were unsuccessful. Koal was born May 27, 2003.
The Mazeppa Fire Department, the Zumbrota Ambulance and the sheriff's office all responded.
"Any time we have an untimely death, it's hard for the family and responders," Sheriff Rodney Bartsh said. "When we have a baby with his whole life in front of him, it makes it particularly hard to deal with.
