• Won Class AA titles Saturday in the 100 breaststroke (55.84) and the 100 butterfly (49.55) in the state swimming and diving meet finals Saturday at the University of Minnesota’s Aquatic Center.

• Friday, Bachman set the state Class AA record in the preliminaries of the 100 breaststroke with a 55.90 time. Saturday, he broke that record with a 55.84 time.

• Bachman became the first Rochester double state champion in the swimming and diving meet since 1990, when JM’s Eric Jorgensen did it.

• Bachman, who will swim at the University of Wyoming next school year, will compete in the junior nationals March 17 in Orlando, Fla.


• "Kendrick winning two state titles was the culmination of all those years of swimming, starting as a 6-year-old," said JM coach Paul Bachman, who is also Kendrick’s father. "There were a lot of friends that he’s known through the years watching him (on Saturday). It was a good experience for everyone."
