Beatrice A. Connaughty — Winona

WINONA — Services for Beatrice A. Connaughty will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Stockton, with the Rev. Jesse E. Krusemark officiating. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery, Stockton.

Beatrice Adeline Connaughty, 90, of Winona, died Friday (April 10, 2009) at St. Anne Extended Healthcare.

She was born March 31, 1919, in Utica Township, Winona County, to Otto and Elizabeth (Lawrenz) Kiese. On Nov. 26, 1936, she married Henry F. Connaughty in Lewiston. A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Connaughty was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and its ladies aid in Stockton and was a volunteer with the Sauer Memorial Auxiliary in Winona.

She is survived by two daughters, Sharon (James) Ruhberg of St. Charles and Patricia (Douglas) Potter of Winona; two sons, James (Kathy) of Goodview and Ronald (Kelly) of Gainesville, Mo., 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include a daughter-in-law, Sharon "Sherry" Connaughty of Goodview, and sisters-in-law Norma Kiese and Betty Ellinghuysen. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 18, 1997; a son, Roger; two grandsons, Scott Connaughty and David Ruhberg; a great-granddaughter, Sarah Putzier, and a brother, Carl Kiese.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Fawcett-Junker Funeral Home in Winona, and beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church in Stockton.
