Benard A. Lerol — Rushford

RUSHFORD — The funeral for Benard A. Lerol will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church of Highland, with the Rev. Steve Meyer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Lerol, 90, of Rushford, died Thursday (Oct. 11, 2007) at the Caledonia Care and Rehab.

Benard Ardell Lerol was born Dec. 12, 1916, in Amherst Township, Fillmore County. On May 1, 1937, he married Alice Nordsving. The couple moved to a farm in Amherst Township, where they lived and worked on the same farm for 62 years. While farming, Mr. Lerol was treasurer for eights years for the Grubtown School and for six years for Amherst Township. After retiring, he was an adjuster for the Crop Insurance Co. for 15 years. He was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church of Highland.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Beverly (Sidney) Aasum of Caledonia and Rochelle (Orrin) Hegg of Prea, Calif.; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hoff Funeral Homes-Rushford Chapel, and an hour before the service Monday at the church.
