Benefit for Honors Choirs is set for Saturday

The Honors Choirs of Southeast Minnesota will host its annual Harvest to Holiday benefit Saturday at Holy Spirit Church, 5455 50th Ave. N.W. in Rochester.

The night begins at 7 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres, desserts and a silent auction of more than 150 items ranging from a weekend at an area bed and breakfast to a basket of homemade jams and breads.

The benefit will also feature a short, live auction.

Background music will be provided by individual musicians and small ensembles, including the newly-formed Chamber Ensemble. At the close of the auction, there will be a mini-concert by the Chorale, Lyric Singers and Concert Choir.

All proceeds will benefit programming for the 14th season of the Honors Choirs, a nonprofit organization of six auditioned youth choirs for singers in grades three through 12.

This year, 290 singers from 27 communities are involved in the choirs.

Tickets are $21, available by calling 252-0505 or at
